Creativity at Work

June 13, 2013

Macaroni Kid loves to get creative, and we work hard to stay with the times. When COVID hit we remained 100% active - even though we didn't have events to put on the calendar, we found ways to keep the community engaged. We think ahead and we work with our sponsors and advertisers to create the best fit. We love to put on our thinking caps and let our creativity run wild.

Macaroni Kid Creativity in Action

The Great Macaroni Kid Snowball Fight Campaign
When events were hard to come by due to a pandemic, we didn't let us stop engaging the community, and getting our local businesses seen in the community. We figured out to hold an event without really holding an event and hosted the Great Macaroni Kid Snowball fight of 2020. With the help of local sponsors, we "hit" 150 families with doorstop drops of snowballs - in the form of gift bags. The campaign was run for 2 months in the website and social media. Our readers loved it, our sponsors loved it and we loved facilitating the fun.  See more here.

Instagram Stories and Takeovers
We love engaging our readers in unique ways. Every promotion we do runs mainly through the website and our email campaigns, but we often like to support campaigns through our social channels. One unique way is through our Instagram Stories & Highlights. We've worked hard to build a local following on our channel, and feed them content that they love to see. Visit our Instagram to see our Story Highlights.

Personalized Influencer Campaigns
We've built a rapport with our local community. Through our newsletter, website and social media, we hold an ongoing conversation about what's happening in our community. Our readers have learned to trust our reviews and trust our recommendations. We let our customers get an in-depth feel of what it is like to be a customer, encouraging them to want to be a customer too!

Here are some of our more recent influncer based campaigns:

Williams Orthodontics
In this example publisher Julie Dikken and her daughter Emma offered a series of articles, display ads and social media to show an in-depth review of their experience in Orthodontic treatment at Williams Orthodontics.

Dream Dinners Arvada
In this example we put together a campaign with a series of articles, social media and display ads to show an in-depth review of how Dream Dinners Arvada can help moms feed their families while opening up more time for family. We work closely with the client to get the exact messaging they want to be heard to be delivered in our voice so the readers are sure to respond favorably.
