Invisalign® with Williams Orthodontics ~ How to Convince Your Parents!

A Teen's Perspective

By Emma Dikken, Jr. Publisher November 29, 2018

I knew that one day I would need to have braces. I wasn't looking forward to that day. I learned about Invisalign treatments through the internet and decided that I wanted to go that route. I also knew that convincing my parents would be kind of difficult.

I did some research to find out more about the treatment and with the help of Williams Orthodontics here is what we came up with to get my parents to agree.

  1. Less Appointment Time + Less Drive Time = More Family Time
You change your aligners out each week at home which mean fewer appointments. And since Williams Orthodontics has two convenient offices, one in Conifer and one in Evergreen, that means less drive time for us!
  2. Just as Effective as Traditional Metal Braces
You wear each set of aligners for about one week, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions.
  3. Costs about the Same as Metal Braces
Just like metal braces, they're often included under most dental insurance policies.
  4. No Food Restrictions - Bring on the Gummy Bears!
You've probably heard that with braces you won't be able to eat anything. With Invisalign Teen aligners, you can eat whatever you want! Unlike traditional metal braces, your Invisalign Teen aligners are removable, which means you can go ahead and eat all the things you love without worrying about breaking a bracket or losing a rubber band. Cheers!
  5. I Will Smile More!
The team has a game this Friday night, homecoming is in a month, and what about my yearbook pictures?! Don't stress; during your Invisalign Teen treatment you won't need to turn down any dates, wear a paper bag over your head, or hide out in your room for two years! Invisalign Aligners are clear, removable, and comfortable and are a perfect fit for a teen's lifestyle.

I also knew my parents would worry that I wouldn't wear them. Research shows that teens are more reliable in wearing their aligners than adults are. I can even prove that I wear them because Invisalign teen Aligners have a compliance indicator on them.

  • If by chance I don't wear them, there is a teen guarantee to where Invisalign will pay to have metal braces put on without an additional charge. I don't want to wear metal braces, so that is even more reason that I will be sure to wear them
  • If I happen to lose any aligners (which I haven't so far!) Invisalign will give me up to 6 replacements free.

With these little facts I was able to convince my parents that Invisalign with Williams Orthodontics is the best route for me. My mom liked the idea so much that she is even going through the treatment right along with me! We are both on our way to new smiles with the help of Williams Orthodontics and Invisalign!
