Dear Amazing Mountain Community,
Peak Academy of Dance and Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema have collaborated on a Jeffco Thriving Grant. This grant will allow us to bring Dance Cinema and create Dance Cinema for our Mountain Community. We are so excited to include you!
We will be creating three cohorts of students who are aged 12 through adult who have an interest in learning about film. They will be invited to a Google Classroom to learn some film basics, to be part a team member of a live shoot, to take part in editing, and finally to view the film that they have created.
The three projects are as follows:
Mountain Area Dance Collective Semi-Annual Nutcracker
This team will meet with Michelle Bernier via Google Meet prior to the first shoot and after the first shoot for editing. All physical shoots will be held at Peak Academy of Dance in the Indigo Bridge Theater located at 26437 Conifer Road, Conifer, CO.
The following dates will be the physical shoots:
- Saturday, November 9th from 10:00-2:00
- Saturday, December 7th from 4:00-7:00
Ridge Runners Square Dance
This team will meet with Tanja London via Google Meet prior to the first shoot and after the first shoot for editing. All physical shoots will be held at the Conifer Community Center located at 26215 Sutton Road, Conifer, CO.
The following dates will be the shoots:
- Saturday, February 22nd from 7:30-9:30 pm
- Saturday, March 8th from 7:30-9:30 pm
Essential Dance Company
This team will meet with Sarah Heller via Google Meet prior to the first shoot and after the first shoot for editing. All physical shoots will start out at Peak Academy of Dance located at 26437 Conifer Road, Conifer CO 80433, and will include driving to a specified location for shooting. The team will return to Peak Academy of Dance for pick-up.
The following dates will be the shoots:
- Sunday, April 13th (Exact Time-TBD) Between 9-3
- Sunday, April 27th (Exact Time-TBD) Between 9-3
Jeffco Thriving Grant Festival Film Screenings
All three films will be shown in a curated Film Event on Saturday, May 17, 2025, 6:00 pm. at the Indigo Bridge Theater, located at 26437 Conifer Road, Conifer, CO. Tickets can be purchased for $5.00 on the Peak Academy of Dance Website.
