School may be starting next week, but that doesn't mean the fun has to end! We are lucky to have so many family friendly trails with easy access and some locations offer fun activities too. Staunton State Park is one of my family's favorite. It is close by, has many maintained trails of varying length and difficulty and even has scheduled events that are fun for all ages.
Staunton is open year-round and will have guided hikes and kids activities through October.

Get out and enjoy the park! For many it is close enough for a quick hike after school. For those participating in home studies, Staunton would be a perfect outing for outdoor learning.
