SuperThings™ Rivals of Kaboom, a Parental Handbook

So you know what to look for when you see them on your kids' holiday list (You're Welcome!)

By Julie Dikken, Publisher/Editor Evergreen.MacaroniKid.com December 8, 2019

Welcome to Kaboom City, a colorful and exciting town that is inhabited by the coolest creatures you may ever find. This is a place where fruits, snacks, household tools, and accessories coexist as superheroes and villains. That is until Mr. C - a lively plump orange comes across Jack the Juicer, the very appliance designed to squeeze the liquid right out of him. This is where the fun of SuperThings™ begins.

Above is my rather simplified version of the story behind SuperThings™, Rivals of Kaboom, the hottest new toy from Goliath Games

Kids tend to figure these things out after playing with them once, but parents may need a cheat sheet to understand the ins and outs. Since these toys will likely be the HOT ask this year, I thought I'd offer parents help by writing down the quick and dirty on SuperThings.

Here is what I have learned...

SuperThings are superheroes that live in Kaboom City. Each SuperThings character has it's own superpower and personal profile. Based on their profile, they are assigned to teams that are led by a captain. (Captains are silver and a rare find - hint - kids want those!)

SuperThings Teams - Heroes vs Villains

SuperThings Cool Troop, Heroes

SuperThings Furious Gang - Villains

I opened some SuperThings Blind Packages to assist in my research and found a few captains along with their team mates. (I'll have to keep looking or talk some kids into trades to complete the sets)

SuperThings Rivals

TV-Tron vs Zapper

T-Mate vs Red Ray

Sugar Rush vs Pow Corn

SuperThings characters have rivals and compete with each other using their assigned superpowers. These are a few rivals I found through my research. (My favorite right now is T-Mate. Sorry kids, he's not currently open for trade.)

SuperThings: Look for Rare, Super Rare and Try to Find the Ultra Rare Enigma!

Super Rare Kactor

Kids love to search for and will often attempt big-time trade deals to obtain a rare or ultra rare SuperThings. It is doubtful you will find a kid willing to trade the ultra rare Enigma, if they are lucky enough to find one.
(Enigma not picture because, well, I'm still actively looking for one)

Kactor is the Super Leader for the Villain Team.

So, there you have the run-down on SuperThings, Rivals of Kaboom. I hope you find this information helpful when you see them on the top of your kids' holiday list this year. For those of you who are visual learners, I created a short video. (Again, you're welcome)

SuperThings can be found on Amazon and select stores near you. Prices range from $1.99 for a two pack, $9.99 for a four-pack which includes four SuperThings (one rare), two Hideouts, one Super Blaster, and three Super Discs. Other items to look for are Hideouts, Supercars, Starter Packs and Kaboom Traps.

If you want to see them before they hit the stores, look for Macaroni Kid at local events this November and December. I have hundreds of packs ready to share - and quite a few opened packages ready to trade! Keep an eye on the Macaroni Kid calendar for details on where we will be.

Macaroni Kid received SuperThings products and compensation to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
