Family Activity Backpacks at YOUR Colorado State Parks

Year-Round Fun: Find these packs at 29 Colorado State Parks!

Wintertime doesn't mean you need to stay inside all January! Our state parks are the perfect place to get out and explore, and they offer some pretty cool things to help families make the most of it!

Family Activity Backpacks are packs that help bring adventure to the trail! These interactive packs are free to use and can be found at a Colorado State Park near you. Each pack includes two large bug boxes, magnifiers, guide books, binoculars and a nature journal.

When visiting a Colorado State Park you can check out Family Activity Backpacks and use them to explore, discover and get a closer look at nature. With these packs families will learn about birds, insects, wildflowers and pond or tree life (depending on the park you are visiting).

When you arrive at the park, activity packs may be checked-out at the visitor center or office for day use and returned before heading home -- or if your camping back to the campsite.

You will find packs at our local Staunton State Park or plan to visit one of these Colorado State Parks while you are exploring our beautiful state. You can also check out a JCPL's Culture Pass to get you in the Colorado State Park for free.
