Creative Winter Season Gifts and Giving: with Music!

Emery Pace Archer, Soul Centered Music and Metaphysics

By Emery Pace Archer November 15, 2018

Hello amazing Mom, Pop, Grandparents, kids and families-of-all-kinds community! This winter season we have so many opportunities to give. Giving gets us out into the community, connecting with one another and feeling warm no matter the temperature outside. But alas, so many food drives, donation boxes and online cyber donations can take the personal expression and depth out of this season, when that’s really what it’s all about!

How about some amazingly creative ideas for giving this holiday season?

HELP YOUR KIDDOS EXPRESS
As a professional creative, I love to take this time of year to collaborate and connect in a big way through music, art, dance, theater and spoken word. What better time to encourage our kiddos to give from their truest self? When they sing, play an instrument, dance, create art, act and collaborate especially with family, friends and peers, in the community, they have a chance to learn and grow in so many ways. My students love to do what we call a “Winter Tour” this time of year. We schedule visits at community spaces and events and play and sing music from the heart! You can do the same. Get involved with community! Here are some great ideas:

  • Senior/Retirement Homes
  • Local Bookstores and Coffee Shops
  • Private PreSchools
  • Parades, Light Festivals, WinterFest and Holiday Events
  • Children’s Homes and Hospitals
  • Open Mic Nights
  • Your own home as both a creative stage and tween/teen get together
  • Opening for Local Theater Events

ENCOURAGE YOUR KIDDOS TO JOIN OTHERS
Would you like to join us? Some of us will be at the Chamber of Commerce Tree decorating event in Bailey this Friday at 6 p.m. We also have several other dates planned for a student led group that is free of charge called Mousai Rising. Come and meet our student leader, Sydney and lead teacher, Emery.
