Christmas is in the air at Moore Lumber & Ace Hardware in Pine Junction, and the festivities start on Black Friday with their 12 Days of Christmas Sale. Every day, beginning on Black Friday and running through their Ladies’ Night on Thursday, December 6th, will have special savings with 50 to 90% off selected items. “We thought why should Black Friday be one day only? Let’s continue the fun for a couple weeks,” said Kathy Baker, the store’s marketing manager. Selected items include tools, stocking stuffers, ornaments, holiday décor, and home goods. Sale merchandise will be updated daily on their Facebook page.
Santa will be joining the fun on Saturday, December 1st at the store’s Christmas Party, and he will not be alone. He’s bringing along a sleigh full of elves for the store’s second annual Selfie with Elfies Contest. Contestants will vie for the best selfie on Facebook with the winner taking home a $50 Ace Hardware gift card just in time for Christmas. “Our customers had a lot of fun with this last year. We told them to be creative, and they were. The winning entry was of a chainsaw wielding elf and one of our customers,” laughed Baker. In addition to Santa and elves, there will be free face painting, an ornament making station, and sweets. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The festivities culminate with Moore Lumber & Ace Hardware’s annual Ladies’ Night - our most popular annual event. The store offers storewide savings of 25% off almost everything in the store. There are some exclusions; see the store for details. The first 100 women will receive a free goodie bag available at checkout, so be sure to get there early. “This is our most popular event of the year. Women line up ahead of time for the goodie bags,” said Baker. The store this evening transforms from a hardware store to a party venue with live music, wine, food, and a large amount of door prizes. The 3eatles will be performing this year, and Aspen Peak Cellars will be sampling their wine. Along with vendor demos and Mary Kay hand massages, this year the store is trying something new and bringing in a henna tattoo artist. “We clear out our deck center so the ladies can sit and enjoy themselves for the evening. Our goal is to make this a fun event and give back to the community during the holidays,” said Baker. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
