Everyone loves pirates! From the creaky old boat to peg legs and hooks for hands, it is fun to dress as a pirate and say “Arr” in a scruffy voice. That is just what the children do in Pirates of the Curry Bean set to perform April 9 through 19, 2015 at The Venue Theatre in Conifer Town Center. It is a story about a bunch of stinky pirates who love to eat curry and beans and hunt for treasure. The cast and I have had such fun with this swashbuckling show. This show has so many gags and one-liners that is as much fun for adults as it is for children.
The script was written by Craig Hawes, one of the U.K.'s leading composers of musicals for schools and drama groups and his songs are amongst the most tuneful. Every Craig Hawes musical has been tried and tested in theatres with much success. Some of his other tittles include, Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies, What a Knight, and Ye-Ha!, a wild west comedy. Pirates of the Curry Bean is his most successful script to date!
Come on out to see the show and you will be blown away by just how much these young children do. They sing, they dance, they act, and some of them do it all with a British accent! I think this cast is amazing and I know you will agree. This funny, upbeat show is sure to be a treat for all ages. And there are surprises in store for both young and old audience members.
